Arnel Williams

Arnel Williams was born to the union of James Williams Sr. and Willadean Rocker Williams on February 18, 1961. He made his earthly transition on March 11, 2024, at his home. Early in life Arnel united with the Old St. Matthews Church in Jackson. He attended the Job Corps, while there he played basketball which was one of his favorite sports. He was employed for more than 40 years with Greer’s in the meat department as a butcher.

Preceding him in death were his parents, James Williams Sr. and Willadean Rocker Williams; brother, James Williams Jr.; and nephew, Barry Hurd Jr.  

Left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Sharonda Doole; two grandson, Deonte Dalton and Omarion Dalton, all of Hendersonville, Tenn.; raised like a daughter, Shayla Leggett Hawkins of Birmingham; a loving and devoted sister and brother-in-law, Beatrice and Barry Hurd Sr. of Jackson; two brothers, devoted George Williams of Jackson and Jimmy Lee Williams of Pittsburgh, Pa.; one aunt, Lela Sanders of Youngstown, Ohio; sister-in-law, Betty Grayson Williams of Wagarville; with one niece, two nephews, other relatives and friends.
