Bettye Lowe Obituary

Bettye Jean Williams Lowe, a native of Jackson and resident of Selma, entered into enteral rest on Friday, April 4, 2024 while at Vaughan Regional in Selma. She was born on November 26, 1956 in Ft. Belvoir, Va., to Earl Williams and Evelyn Jones Williams.
Early in life, Bettye united with the Mt. Olive No. 2 Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev. E.L. Williams and she was a member of the Jackson High School Class of 1975. Bettye was employed in several capacities throughout her life, her most recent being in retail and sales. She loved sewing, drawing and painting, anything involving working with her hands. She traveled to many counties and cities throughout her life. Bettye was a very quiet soul with a gentle spirit.
Bettye was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Williams and Evelyn Jones Williams; father and mother in law, John D. Lowe and Louvenia Lowe; nephew, Adrian E. Williams.
She leaves to mourn her passing her devoted and loving husband of 34 years, Vernon Earl Lowe; stepsons that she loved as her own, Eric (Eleanor) Lowe, Carlos (Elena) Lowe and Earl Lowe; her sister, Carolyn (John) Jackson; brothers, Johnnie (Ann) Williams, Ronnie (Theresa) Williams and Raymond (Melissa) Williams; sister-in-law, Arilafir Belton; brothers-in-law, John Chapman, Tommie Lowe, Willie E. Lowe and Richard Lowe; nieces and nephews, Shannon Williams, Nichelle Williams, Porsha Hicks, Marcus (Katrina) Williams, Reginald Williams, Derrick ( Valynda) Williams, Ronald Williams and Ryan Williams; great-nieces and great-nephews, with a very special great-niece, Marie Williams; uncles, Alvin Jones and Isaac Williams; aunts, Margaret Dean, Lurie Jackson, Clara Woods, Sara Barnwell, Barbara Williams and Lucy Jones; with many other relatives and friends.
