Mr. Mikel Jawuan Scott, age 27, a resident of Leroy, was born May 14, 1996 to loving parents Daisy Scott Bettis and Arthur Scott Sr. He departed this life April 2nd, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Mikel was educated in the Washington County School System where he participated in a variety of activities. He was a vibrant co-drum major who also played the trumpet, guitar and harmonica. He was a school sports announcer, DJ for the local games, and a member of the National Honor Society.
He also had a multitude of jobs. He started as a sales associate at Walmart where he frequently was awarded employee of the month. He then became a call representative at Alorica. Afterward, he was active in both personal and family locally owned businesses by volunteering and supporting. He was a tech support tutor, as well as a graphic artist and a unique dancer.
A faithful member of the Jackson Street Baptist Church, he served the church until his health failed. Mikel demonstrated he was a kind-hearted, humble, loving and supportive Christian.
Mikel will be forever cherished by his loving mother, Daisy (Eddie) Scott Bettis of Leroy; loving father, Arthur (Ida) Scott Sr. of Thomasville; loving brothers, Michael Johnson and Arthur (Diamond) Scott Jr., both of Leroy, Daniel (Keandra) Scott of Grove Hill and Kenyati Scott of Savannah, Ga.; loving sisters, Artrea Scott of Leroy and Gayle (Zachary) Turner of Atlanta, Ga.; with a host of loving and devoted aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
