Alvester Fuller, affectionately known as “Dut” and “Muh” by her family, was a resident of Grove Hill. She entered into eternal rest Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2019. Born Oct. 10, 1936 to Dannie Taite Knight and Bill Knight, she was 83 years old. Early in life she united with the Little Rock Baptist Church in Gosport, where she remained a faithful member and also sang in the choir. She loved gardening, cooking and spending time with her family.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Euless Sidney Fuller; son, Thomas Earl Fuller; sister, Louise Hudson; brothers, Hafford and Howard Knight; half-brothers, Bill Knight Jr., Mack Knight, Israel Knight, Marshall Taite and Joe Knight; half-sisters, Cilia Ely, Rosie Ely, Retta Green and Mary Hawkins.
Alvester leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Clara (Johnnie) Cook of Grove Hill; three sons, Anthony Fuller of Grove Hill, Michael Fuller of Houston, Texas and Kenneth B. (Charlotte) Fuller of Thomasville; one sister, Oweata Knight Jackson of Thomasville; eight grandchildren, one devoted, Lakisha (Keith) Steele of Coffeeville, Kendra (Jerry) Jackson of Jackson, Kenneth D. Fuller and Shanterika Chapman, both of Grove Hill, Sidney Fuller, Kenney Fuller, Raphael Fuller and Kalysha Fuller, all of Thomasville; seven great-grandchildren, two devoted, A’maya Wiffen and Keith J. Steele, both of Coffeeville; two devoted first cousins, Grady Lee Dixon, raised as a brother, of Cleveland, Ohio, and Annie Lou Johnson, raised like a daughter, of Gosport; devoted nephews, Clint (Sandra) Hardy of Linden, N.J., and Marshall (Sherry) Knight of Thomasville; two devoted nieces, Lillian Gray and Margaret Ash, both of Mobile; with a host of other nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends, including very close friends Mary and David Mathews of Dayton, Ohio, Roger Chapman of Mobile and Don Wright of Grove Hill.
