Deacon James Noble Reed traded time for eternity on Sunday, November 17, 2019 while at his Cortelyou residence. Born August 11, 1941 to Henry and Carrie L. Reed, he was 78 years of age. A graduate of Prestwick High School, he began a career at Searcy Hospital in Mt. Vernon, AL until relocating to Chicago, IL where he spent the next thirty-nine years employed at the Bloomfield Industries. After retirement he relocated back to Alabama, enjoying fishing, playing dominoes, and trapping coons.
At and early age, James gave his life to Christ, becoming a deacon, and a respected counselor at Three Crosses of Calvary Church under the leadership of Pastor Norman G. Donahue. Upon returning home, he joined Union Baptist Church in Wagarville, where Dr. Lonnie Moore is pastor.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Henry L. and Carrie L. Reed.
Left to forever cherish his precious memories are his wife, Geraldine Reed; son, Geric (Amy) Reed; daughters, Jamie (Perry) Spencer and Miranda (Anthony) Ross; grandchildren, Brkaylan, Taylor, Olivia, Anthony, Jr., Loghan, Zyron and Zaylon Ross, Aaron, Alex, Amion, and Adrix Reed, McKenzie Callier, Kenneth and Jhari Robinson; two sisters, Anie Bragg and Dorothy (Calvin) Griffin; one brotherly cousin, Charles (Ola) Reed; one goddaughter, Kamela Bryant; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including his Wagarville Nutrition Center family, particularly James Jackson.
