John "JD" Darrington

John "JD" Darrington answered the Master's call on Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at his earthly residence surrounded by his family. Born July 1, 1934 to Gilbert and Mary Turner Darrington, he was eighty-four years of age. At an early age he united with the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Jackson, AL and later the Mt. Olive #2 Baptist Church in Jackson, AL.

Preceding "JD" in death are two daughters, Teresa Darrington and Johnnie Mae Darrington; a son, Andy Goodwin; his parents, Gilbert and Mary Darrington; and eight siblings.

John leaves to forever cherish his precious memories his wife of twenty two years, Bertha B. Darrington, Jackson, AL; two devoted daughters, Shirley (Jimmie) Morris and Demiah Dixon, both of Jackson, AL; two sons, Emmit (Henrietta) Goodwin and Willie Goodwin, both of Jackson, AL; a stepson, Bobby Braggs, Los Angeles, CA; and a host of nieces, nephews, including a devoted nephew, Johnnie Ray Darrington, other relatives and friends.
