Robert Thornton, a native and resident of Coffeeville, made his earthly transition from this life Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018, while at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center in Mobile, AL. Born March 1, 1939 to Della and Johnny Thornton, he was 79 years of age.
Robert loved spending time with family and friends, as well as planting, working in his garden and playing his harmonica. One of his favorite dishes was spaghetti and root beer soda.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, are siblings, Barbara Lee Thomas, Johnny Lee Thornton, Henry Thornton, Houston Thornton, Artis Thornton, Fred Thornton, Marie Scott, Lillian Philon and Ethel Mae Thornton.
Left to cherish his memories are two devoted sisters, Viola Laster and Ella Mae Montgomery, both of Coffeeville, AL; devoted brother, Dan Thornton, of Coffeeville, AL; sister-in-law, Louise Philon of Silas, AL; special friend, Louise Water; with a host of nieces and nephews, three devoted Arlene Montgomery, Sandra Laster and Christopher Thomas, other relatives and friends.
