Alma Cox Obituary

 

Alma Lee Todd Cox, 106, departed this life Dec. 15, 2019 at Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital in Whittier, Calif.  She was a native of the Toddtown community of Grove Hill.

Alma Lee Todd Cox was born on Jan. 20, 1913 to the late Agnew Todd and Mary Wilson Todd. She was the eldest of five children. Alma accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Pine Chapel Baptist Church, No. 2. Her hobbies included reading the Bible, reciting poetry, singing and cooking.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charlie James Cox Sr.; eight children, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and four siblings.  

She leaves behind to cherish fond memories, daughter, Carolyn of La Mirada, Calif.; sons, Charlie Jr. and Leo (Johnita), both of Toddtown; sister-in-law Anne Todd of Cincinnati, Ohio; daughters-in-law, Gloria Cox of Houston, Texas and Ida Cox of Calvert; and a host of devoted grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Final life celebration has been entrusted to Jackson Memorial Funeral Home, 203 East Ross St., Jackson, AL 36545.
