Mother Annie Amelia `` Melia '' James Jackson was the twelfth child born to parents Deacon Henry James and Ethel Mae James on Jan 18, 1947. She departed this life Thursday, Sept 28, 2023 in Mobile. Annie Melia was a graduate in the class of 1966. She was a personal home - care provider for more than 35 years and loved serving and helping others.
Amelia Melia accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of the St. James Church in Choctaw Bluff community. She served as church secretary , choir member and as a member of the Missionary Society. She had a loving spirit and a passion and gift for helping God's people.
Preceding her in death were her parents : brothers, Edward James, Thomas James, Samuel James, John Wesley James and Willie James; sisters, Henrilee Rocher, Veatlas Grant, and Dorothy James; sisters-in- law , Deloise Coleman, Pearlie Mae Jackson and Inge James; brothers-in-law, Sidney Jackson Jr. , Robert Coleman, Clifford James, George James, Lawrence Thomas , Dozier Law, John Knight, and Willie Grant.
She leaves to cherish her memories of four loving and devoted children who were born to the union of marriage with Andrew Jackson Sr. of Rockville, Andrew Jackson Jr. of Conyers, GA , Latonia Michelle Jackson of Montgomery, Marquice (Penelope) Jackson of Pine Hill, and Randy ( Jennifer) Perine of Bloomington, IN, loving grandchildren, which she adored, Lateshia (Zephery ), Mary , Dontrell, Cynquavious, Jasmine, Octavia, Jasmine, Tarell, Isiah, Jayln, Dekhyla, and Demarion; 18 great-grandchildren; one brother, John( Betty) James of Choctaw Bluff; three sisters, Mary Law of Chicago, IL, Ethel Lee Knight of San Francisco , CA , and Bernell James of Choctaw Bluff; loving sister-in-law, LeMelia (Mack) Collins, Lillian (Charles) Nettles, Annie Thomas, Mattie James, Lelia James, and Sheila James; god children, William Winston, Nettie (Lewis) Hunt, Tishanna Davis, Heather ( Sylvester) Chase and LaKeisha Dixon; her devoted friends, including the Class of 1966 at Harper High School , Hanie Davis, Barbara ( Rev. Robert) Jackson, Mildred Bracy and Artherine Boykin; with a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly, cousins and many friends.
