Arcola Jackson McReynolds, better known to family and friends as "Miss Arcola," a resident of Jackson, traded time for eternity on Saturday morning while at Mobile Infirmary Hospital. She was born on March 27, 1930 to Octavia Leach and Jimmy Jackson.
Arcola loved cooking, watching television, caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and making sure everyone was taken care of. She really loved family gatherings when all of her children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren would come together.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jimmie Lee Hill, Jimmy Jackson and Ed Jackson; and daughters, Warnell McReynolds, Tammy McReynolds and Betty Faye McReynolds Sanders.
Left to cherish her memories are three daughters, Dorothy McReynolds of Jackson, and Arnell and Mary Nell McReynolds, both of Brooklyn, N.Y.; four sons, Mose McReynolds and Anthony (Stephanie) McReynolds, both of Jackson, L.C. (Bobbie) McReynolds of Atlanta, Ga., and Johnny (Helen) McReynolds of Fayetteville, N.C.; 17 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many others she raised just as her own.
