Betty Frazier Obituary

Betty Jean Frazier, 67, passed away May 10, 2023 surrounded by her family and friends, due to complications from breast cancer.

Betty was born on Nov. 6, 1955 in Grove Hill. Her mother was Mary L. Frazier. Following graduation from Clarke County High School in 1975, she continued her education at Alabama State University, where she received a Bachelor Degree in Education.

In childhood, Betty was a funny sister. She was the best at climbing the highest trees, running, rolling down hills, playing marbles, jacks, and softball. She was lovingly known as "Bet" by her siblings and the people who knew her.

Betty was a fun-loving soul with a big heart. She was fearless, kind, witty, and good at making people laugh. She loved hanging out with her family and her friends, cooking, eating, listening to music, and dancing. She always took pride in her appearance. A sharp dresser, she loved hats. The real joy of her life was her son, B’Ondray “PePe,” his wife Alicia, and her grandchildren.

Betty was strong-willed and even stubborn at times, but those are some of the traits that defined her. They were the things that gave her courage and strength to cope with the challenges of her life. She lived life her way!

A strong fighter, Bet is now in the hands of a loving God. She is living her best life, free from pain and sorrow. She believed and confessed her love for Jesus Christ. She would say, "I talked to God about it and me and Him got this.” She kept the faith until the end!

Preceding her in death was her mother, Mary Lee Frazier; brothers, Willie R. Coates and Leo Frazier; and sisters, Mary Tate and Ethel Frazier.

Betty's memories will live on in the hearts of her son, B'Ondray Frazier (Alicia); grandchildren, E'Minee N. Lacey, Williams B. Hampton, Valiyah S. Porter, Brook'Lynn S. Frazier, Harlym K. Frazier and Kalisea R. Porter; sisters, Verdia M. Frazier, Euncie Byrd, Pauline Foreman (Ken), Debra Frazier, Cynthia Burroughs-Harris and Helen Burroughs; and brothers, Thomas J. Frazier, Leonard (Berethia) Frazier, Larry Frazier and Darryl W. Burroughs; devoted niece, Angelia Frazier; special friends, Noland Chapman, Katina Love, Allyson Gwin, Marla Portis-Hartley and Fenicha Robinson; with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
