Billy Robinson Obituary

Billy Robinson a native of Whatley, AL and resident of Foley, AL was born on May 10, 1941 Robert Zecolia and Lillie Bob Burroughs Robinson in Whatley, AL the eighth of ten  children. He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior at an early age and united with the First Baptist Church of Whatley for decades before moving to Baldwin County in 1994 and later united with First Baptist Church of Warrington in Pensacola, Fla. where he remained a faithful member under the leadership of Dr. James H. Miller, Sr and First lady Mary Miller until his sudden passing. Billy worked for decades in the logging industry as a skidder operator for Powell Trucking Company owned by Kossie Ray Powell until he retired in 1994. After relocating to Baldwin County he worked for 10yrs for Woerner Turf in Foley. Billy was a skill carpenter, mechanic and a painter among other things, he was a truly a Jackson of all trades.  In his spare time he loved fishing, hunting, gardening, walking about 5 miles a day and spending time with his family. He hand carved crafted walking canes that also doubled as a bowing arrow and enjoyed giving them away to family and friends. Billy was loved by peoples of all generations from from way back when to present. His sprint will always be a part of Clarke County and Baldwin County and First Baptist Church of Whatley and First Baptist Church of Warrington in Pensacola, Fla. He was preceded death by his parents his loving parents, Robert  Zecolia and Lillie Bob Burroughs - Robinson, one sister , Etta Ree Robinson, eight brothers, Clemmon ( Ruth ) Robinson, Robert ( Mattie) Robinson Jr., Alvin (Lois) Robinson, Grady Robinson, Billbert Robinson, John Robinson, Lonnie Robinson, and Michael Adams.

 

He leaves to cherish his precious memories a devoted wife of 60 years , Florence Robinson, four daughters, Debbie Ann Purifoy of Birmingham, AL, Joyce ( Kenny) Williams , Twanda (James) Miller and Billie Miller all of Fairhope, AL, one adopted son, Michael ( Carolyn) Taite of Grove Hill, 15 grandchildren,  20 great grandchildren , 1 great granddaughter age 3 months old, two sister in laws, Ella Robinson, and Ynette Robinson, one god daughter , Amanda Gail Hill of Whatley, Al, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
