Brian Bragg Obituary

Brian Keith Bragg was a resident of Milton, Fla., and native of Chicago, Ill. Born June 28, 1966, Brian gained his wings, peacefully at home surrounded by love in the early morning hours of March 4, 2021 following a short but hard fought battle with cancer.

Brian was an amazingly bright soul; a loving son, husband, uncle, cousin and friend. Well known for his lighthearted smile and booming personality; he never met a stranger and his glow was felt wherever he went. He was raised between Chicago and Wagarville (Cortelyou), eventually settling in Pensacola (Milton), Fla. He was a huge presence in the life of the ones he loved. Ever an optimist, he had big dreams, worked hard for what he had and always tried to live his life to the fullest. His belief in the power of prayer and love brought him through unimaginable obstacles in his life. He was an amazing man, with a heart for helping others. He never missed a chance to call his mother, help anyone who needed it, or to use his life experiences to try to guide someone back to a better path.

Preceding him in death were his parents, James Bragg and Annie Reed Bragg; sister, Linda Faye Bragg Williams; and uncle, James Noble Reed.

Brian is survived by his wife, Sonja Bragg of Milton, Fla.; brothers, Alvin (Sabrina) Bragg and Terry Hobbs, both of Chicago, Ill., and Michael Bragg of Wagarville; aunts, Dorothy (Calvin) Griffin and Geraldine Reed, both of Wagarville; mother-in-law, Cynthia McGee and grandmother, Jolaine Brown, both of Pace, Fla.; brothers-in-law, Willie Williams of Wagarville, and Andrew Lewis and Russel Lewis, both of Pace, Fla.; sisters-in-law, Jennifer Walden of Milton, Fla., and Audra (Thomas) Francis of Pensacola, Fla.; close cousins, Hollis Casey, Anthony Casey, Letitia Adams, Roosevelt Adams, Erica Reed, Charles Reed Jr., Joan Robinson and Deloris Robinson; as well as an enormous host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends in Chicago, Wagarville, Jackson, Mobile, Pensacola and more.
