Catherine Martin Jackson, a resident of Jackson, was affectionately known to her family and friends as "Coda". Catherine was born on Oct. 1, 1937 to the late Linzey Martin and Cora Davis Martin. She made her earthly transition on Monday, Jan. 13, 2025, at her granddaughter’s home in Jacksonville, Fla.
Catherine was a member of Mt. Olive No. 1 Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member serving as a deaconess, choir member and loved attending Sunday school and Bible study before her health failed. Catherine was employed with Jackson Health Care for 32 years of service when she retired. During her spare time, she enjoyedfishing.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Richard Jackson Sr.; sons, Richard Jackson Jr., Wayne Jackson
and Samson Jackson.
Catherine leaves to cherish her memories her loving family, Joseph (Connie) Jackson of Columbus, Ga., James Jackson of Killeen, Texas, Micheal (Teresa) Jackson of Dothan, Wade Jackson, Cedric Jackson and Paul Jackson, all of Jackson; two sisters, Pearlie Mae Hunt of Fairhope and Valeria (Keith) Henderson of Detroit, Mich.; with a
host grandchildren, a devoted granddaughter, Sedna (Tariff) Hudson of Jacksonville, Fla.; great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
