Charles Owen Burden, Sr.

Charles Owen Burden, Sr., born Dec. 18, 1955, entered the heavenly kingdom April 19, 2025.

He was the eighth child of the late Earlean and Earnest Johnson Burden, Sr.; grandson of the late Melvina Clark and Owen Gwin; husband of 42 years to Sandra Hendricks Burden; father to Ashley Burden and Charles Burden, Jr.; brother to Earnestine Turner, Mary Daffin, Samuel Burden, Shirley Burden, Deidra Burden, Irma Burden, Gwendolyn Montgomery, Randall Burden, Sr., and the late Mattie Burden and Earnest Burden, Jr.; uncle to many nieces and nephews to include Shelia Burden, Patricia Coats, Cheryl McDole and Percy Michael Jones; brother-in-law to Samuel Daffin, I, Samuel Montgomery, Diane and Duane Watkins, Terri and Theodore Hendricks, Jr., Bonnie Burns, Gayle and Tom Ruther, Robin Scott Miles, Nancy Williams Burden and Varice James Burden; cousin to so many more; friend to countless others; a 1974 graduate of Jackson High School; and a veteran of the United States Army after serving honorably for 21 years.
