Charles Lamar Patterson Sr. traded time for eternity on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025, while at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center. Charles was born to the parentage of Johnny Earl Patterson and Ora Lee Patterson. Raised in Grove Hill, where he attended Clarke County High School and was a 1996 graduate, Charles played drums for the Clarke County High School marching band and was great at it. Following graduation, Charles set out on the path of construction and worked for several different companies.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Johnny Earl Patterson and Ora Lee Patterson; brother, Melvin Patterson; daughter, Tomeka E. Pernell-Lucyies; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Willie James Law Sr. and Susan Law; and sister-in-law, Ramonica Morrisette.

Charles leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Chytinia Law-Patterson of Mobile; sons, Charles Lamar Patterson Jr. of Jackson and Joshua (Dakota) Jernigan of Foley; daughter, Susan Law of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, D'eries Montrell Patterson of Louisiana, Khalelah Reed, Arielle Sanspree, Parker, Elly and Levi Jernigan, all of Foley, Zoey Williams-Law and Jae'Vion Winston, both of Mobile, Amari and Nova Robinson, both of Austin, Texas; uncle, Arthur James Patterson of Texas; aunts, Creola Patterson Westry, Arcola Patterson Williams and Lela Patterson, all of Grove Hill; his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Willie (Marion) Law Jr. of Loxey, Misty (Larry) Rudolph, Willie (Felicia) Morrisette, Alana Womack, Juania Blackston and Trinika (Walter) Dalaney, all of Mobile; Moses  Law of Pensacola, Fla.; with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
