Claudine Williams Obituary

Claudine Williams, a resident of the Gainestown community, affectionally known to family and friends as "Dean," answered the Master's call on May 28, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born July 20, 1946, the daughter of Sarah Washington Williams and Austin Williams Sr. Claudine attended Antioch AME Church in Gainestown. Dean found joy in the simple pleasures of life, spending quality time with her love ones, cooking delicious home-cooked meals and listening tunes on the radio. Dean was a shining star in the lives of those who knew her; she dedicated her life to serving others in any way she could.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two sons, John Adam and Walter James Jr.; great-grandson, Quentin Williams Jr.; her special friend, Walter Pritchett; one sister, Sadie Williams; two brothers, Tommie Williams and Austin Williams Jr.; and two brothers-in-law, Joe Allen Foxx and Ernest Jemison.

She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Debra (Craig) Williams and Sarah Ann (Lendon Washington) Williams; three sons, Robin (Kristi Baugh) William, Gregory Williams, Justin Ray Williams and Nicholas Williams, all of Gainestown; 23 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; two step-daughters, Alice (Amos) Jackson and Ardell (John Davis) Hunt, both of Gainestown; nine sisters, Laria Bell Williams, Dorothy Williams, Mammie Lee Williams, Augustine Jamison, Rachel (Vince) Robinson, Luverne (Ernest) Washington, Barbara (Micheal) Washington, Vanlee (Arthur) Washington and Gloria Foxx; two brothers, Jerome (Victoria) Williams and Irby Williams, all of Gainestown; one uncle, Jefferson Williams; one aunt, Ira Hunt; two brothers-in-law, Theodore (Mary Ann) Pritchett and Cleon (Monika) Pritchett; with a host of nieces and nephews, one devoted nephew, Bruce Williams; a faithful caregiver, Antia Lashay Washington; special friends, Bernice Hunt, Areatha Washington, Margie Fox, Mattie Pearl Taylor and Patricia Curtis; with many other relatives and friends.
