Connie “Bright eye” Starling, a native of Jackson, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024 while at his home surrounded by his love ones. He was born on Dec. 3, 1955 to the union of James Starling and Mary Martin Starling in Jackson. Early in life, Brighteye united with Vernon Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, where he remained a member until death.
Bright eye attended Jackson High School and was a proud member of the graduating Class of 1973. Employed 36 years at Vanity Fair until its closing in 2009, he went on to work at Outokumpu
Stainless Steel until retirement.
Bright eye loved hunting, fishing and playing Bid, Whist and Spades. He was a die heart Alabama fan, ROLL TIDE!!!!! A well-known jokester, he loved people. If you ever met him, he left an impression that lasted forever.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents; father, James Starling; daughter, Connie Michelle Starling; and brother-in-law, Herman Miles.
Bright eye will be cherished in the hearts of his devoted and loving wife of 31 years, Sharon P. Starling; two sons, LaDarren and Desman Starling; stepson, Jeremy Prichett; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Kenneth (Evon) Starling, Ronnie (Shirley) Starling and James Lee (Johnetta) Starling; two sisters, Catherine Gayle (Roscoe) Brown and Margie Miles; mother, Mary M. Starling; mother-in-law, Lessie Pritchett; father-in-law, Elvin Fox; brothers-in-law, James “Poboy” Pritchett, Mark (Shirly) Pritchett, Amos (Alice) Jackson, Mike (Carolyn) Montgomery, Nick Montgomery and Charles Montgomery; sisters-in-law, Mary Pritchett, Betty Jean (Eddie) Williams, Martha (Lavell) Waldrip, Dorothy (Derrick) Franklin, Tenisa Pritchett, Emily (Larry) Jackson, Ronell Nicholson, Gloria Jean (Major) Harris, Angie Fox and Patricia Fox; along with a host of nieces, nephews and extended family including Mr.
Arthur “Note” Dubose and family.
Private viewing will be Friday, Dec. 27, from 1 until 4 p.m., at Jackson Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral
service will be Saturday, Dec. 28, 11 a.m., at Mt. Olive No. 2 Baptist Church in Jackson. Interment will be in Vernal
Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in Jackson.
