Cynthia James
Cynthia “Pam” James was born March 1, 1963 to the late Jeffery James Sr. and Katie B. James in Choctaw Bluff, where she accepted Christ into her life at an early age at New Canaan Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Willie Griffin. Later she united with Fervent Life Worship Center under the leadership of Bishop Jim Perine Jr.
She attended Harper High, later graduating from Jackson High School in the Class of 1981. Cynthia became a hairstylist at Hair Bazaar in Jackson. Later in her life she moved to Mobile, where she answered the Master’s call Tuesday, April 7, 2020, at Springhill Memorial Hospital in Mobile.
Cynthia is preceded in death by her parents, Katie B. and Jeffery James Sr.; grandmother Annie Mae Phelon; three brothers, Jeffery Jr., Dock and Roosevelt James; two sisters, Jessie James and Diane Goodwin; and two nieces, LeQuita “Tweety Bird” Stein and Hattie “Cathy” James.
Cynthia leaves to forever cherish her, her devoted husband, Michael McGlasker; daughter, Avia James; granddaughter, Aliah Moore of Choctaw Bluff; four sisters, Annie (Charles), Gladys (Raymond) and Jeanette James, all of Mobile, and Ethel Rogers of Chicago, Ill.; four brothers, Cubby (Glenda), Max and Marion (Andrea) James, all of Mobile, and Alan James of Jackson; two aunts, Nettie James of Choctaw Bluff and Louisiana Burrell of Mobile; three godchildren, Timothy James, Winston James and Olivia Washam; with a host of devoted in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
