Demetric Lydell Beckham

Demetric Lydell Beckham, better known to family and friends as “Dee,” was a native of the Salitpa community and a resident of Toney. Dee made his earthly transition Wednesday, March 24, 2021 while at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, with his wife and mother-in-love at his side.

Dee was an amazingly bright soul, a loving son, husband, father, uncle and friend.

Born June 7, 1973 to Paralene Beckham , he joined Good Hope Baptist Church in Salitpa at an early age, later joining under watch care at The Fellowship of Faith in Huntsville.

A 1991 graduate of Jackson High School, Dee enjoyed playing football. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan as well as the Florida Gators. Dee held a position as a team leader at his job at Toyota Motor Manufacturing of Alabama for 17 years.

Preceding him in death were grandparents, Willie Beckham and Willie Donald.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 15 years, Renee Beckham; son, Jaron Beckham, both of Madison; two daughters, Tamnique Taylor of Stockbridge, Ga., and Kimeo Lang of Madison; his loving mother and father, Paralene and Adam Gaston of Salitpa, and David Donald of Jackson; three grandmothers, Lallie Beckham and Juanita Gaston, both of Salitpa, and Zeola Donald of Jackson four brothers, Phabian (Kathy) Gaston of Choctaw Bluff, RaCeala (LaShaundria) Gaston and Byron Frierson, both of Jackson, and Xavier (Linda) Hytower of Salitpa; one sister, Chanda Gaston of Philadelphia, Pa.; mother -in - Ceola Stallworth of Gainestown; with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 31, 12-noon, at Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, 9775 Highway 69 in Jackson. The Rev. Derrick Powell is pastor and Dr. Tony Beckham will be the officiating minister.
