Derrick Oneal Bivens was born January , 1959 to Deacon AC and Martha L. Bivens in Citronelle Al. He departed this earthly life Sunday August 24, 2025.
Derrick accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of New Light Missionary Baptist Church in Deer Park, AL.
Derrick attended Booker T. Washington in Vinegar Bend, AL and later graduated from Fruitdale High School in the class of 1976, where he played on the basketball team earning the nickname "Spiderman".
Derrick loved fishing, hunting, singing, dancing, cracking jokes. He had great memories of the past from a young age. His favorite football team was the University of Alabama the Crimson Tide. "Roll Tide Roll!"
He was preceded in the death by his parents, Deacon A. C. and Martha L. Bivens; his brothers: Lawrence A. Bivens and Burt L. Bivens.
Derrick leaves to cherished his legacy and memories, his sisters: JoAnn Bivens of Milwaukee, WI, Jauneice (Ray) Benjamin of Brooklyn, MS, Glenda F. Bivens and Patsy E. (Wando) Crawford both of Milwaukee, WI; uncles: Robert (Ethel) Bivens and AR Grimes; aunts: Mattie Hill, Annie Lois Woods, and Dessie Woods; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins. and relatives and friends; two committed friends: Annie Lee Washington and Henry Johnson.
