Donnie Lee “Smitty” Jackson July 11, 1955 – July 4, 2025
Donnie Lee Jackson, affectionately known as “Smitty” was born on July 11, 1955 to the late Willie Eldred and
Louise Jackson in the Fulton Community of Clarke County, AL. Donnie made his earthly transition on Friday, July 4, 2025.
In Donnie’s younger age, he enjoyed playing baseball. Being around family and friends always brought him great joy.
Donnie also enjoyed shooting pool and fishing. After leaving the Fulton Community, Donnie relocated to
Jackson, AL. In Jackson, he resided and received his education. Later in his adult life, Donnie was baptized at
Jackson Street Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Eldred and Louise Jackson; brothers: Thomas Earl and Joe Michael
Jackson; and three uncles: Wallace, Edmond, and Gilbert Howell.
Donnie will be forever cherished by his sons: Ricardo Fail of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and Lamarcus King of Jackson, AL;
grandchildren: Keneshia, Raniiah, and Chanzess Fail, Ahniyah and Demarcus King, Kevion and Khayyon King;
great-grandchildren: DeKhaylon King and Kayden Green; a devoted sister, Lula (Arthur) Dubose of Jackson; and a
loving brother, Melvin “Shot” Mitchell of Far Rockaway, NY; devoted nieces and nephews: Kimberly(Marcell) Hill,
Clifford Dubose, Wallace Dubose, Pamela (Anthony) Parish, Randy Dubose and Glenn Jackson. Donnie was also blessed
with a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
