Eduardo Fernandez Johnson,affectionately known as "Ed", was born to the union of Edward and Mamie Johnson on November 17, 1961 in Montgomery, AL. He departed this life on the morning of July 10, 2015. He ws a member of James Chapel Baptist Church in St. Stephens, AL and attended Leroy High School where his love for sports was cultivated while participating in football, basketball, and baseball. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the U. S. Air Force and married his high school sweetheart, Sharon Kirksey and the two were blessed with one child, Philip Kyle Johnson. During his military career he was stationed in Italy, Guam, and San Antonio, TX where he settled and later joined Ressurection Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Louis Johnson.
Ed leaves to forever cherish his memories his son, Philip Kyles Johnson; his devoted mother, Mamie Johnson, St. Stephens, AL; one brother, Curtis (Reyes) Johnson, Abilene, TX; a devoted sister, Ed'Juana Johnson-Newton, Montgomery, AL; five uncles, Dell Atchison, and John Davis, St. Stephens, AL, Richmond Earl Smith, San Antonio, TX, George (Maggie) Johnson, and Bernard Johnson, Montgomery, AL; two aunts, Mayola Johnson, and Thelma Johnson, Montgomery, AL; several nieces, nephews, friends including four devoted friends, Geena Haynes, William Zabicki, Ralph Turner, and Daryl Richardson.
