Edward James Jackson
Edward James Jackson, a native of Jackson, was born to the late Jeremiah Jackson and Jessie Mae Andrews Jackson on Nov. 28, 1955. Edward left this life from Jackson Medical Center to begin a heavenly eternity on April 4, 2021.
He was a quiet, but loving person to be around. A member of Saint Union Baptist Church, he later united with the Church of the Living God under the leadership of Pastor Robert Smith. Edward was a truck driver for a number of years.
Preceding him in death was his sister, Deliah Jackson Mitchell.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife, Eatha Jackson; three stepdaughters, La’chundra (Deon) Dickinson, Latoria Bryant and LaToya (Anthony) Phillips; three grandsons, Brayden, Landen and Casen; three brothers, Eldridge (Katherine) Jackson and John (Carolyn) Jackson, both of Jackson, and Jerome (Lana) Jackson of Mobile; four sisters, Linda (Andrew) Thomas of Detroit, Mich., Andrew Chapman and Anna White, both of Jackson, and Beverly Pernell Moore of Louisiana; one aunt, Jewel Edwards of Baltimore, Md.; with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Public viewing will be Friday, April 9, from 2 until 6 p.m., at Jackson Memorial Funeral Home, 203 East Ross St., Jackson. A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 10, 12-noon, at Woodlawn Cemetery, 1077 Center St., Jackson.
Final life celebration has been entrusted to Jackson Memorial Funeral Home.
