Brother Elbert B. Jackson Sr., a native of Manila, was born Jan. 24, 1937 to parentage of the late Willie Jackson Sr. and Ceola Jackson in Barlow Bend. He departed this life April 3, 2023 at Mobile Infirmary Hospital with his daughter by his side.
Elbert confessed Christ at an early age and united with Rocky Mount Baptist Church of Barlow Bend, where he remained a faithful member until death.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four brothers, Eugene Jackson Sr., Raymond Jackson, Alonzo Jackson Sr. and Lewis Jackson Sr.
Left to cherish his memories are eight children, Clauzell Stokes Sr., Elbert (Mildred) Jackson Jr. and George Jackson Sr., all of Mobile, Issac (Gladys) Jackson of Pensacola, Fla., Raymond (Jakethia) Jackson of Sunny South, Augusta (Byron) Bailey and Sauvaner R. Jackson, all of Mobile, and Ceola Jackson of Pensacola, Fla.; one devoted brother, Willie (Mattie) Jackson of Barlow Bend; 23 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren; devoted friends, Mr. Scott Irvin, Mrs. Annie Pearl Taylor and Gladys Brown; with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
