Elbert Harold West, a native of Walker Springs and a resident of Kissimmee, Fla., made his earthly transition on Sept. 12, 2022. He was born on May 29, 1931 to Sallie Gladys Ezell West and James Alexander West. Elbert retired as a detective with New York Police Department. Early in life he was a member of the St. Luke Baptist Church in Walker Springs. He was a very quiet and kind hearted person, always there to help his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Lee West; and sisters, Martha West Davis, Mary West Lumbers and Geraldine West.
Left to cherish his memories is his son, Eric West of New York; one sister, Ella Louise West Brown of Jackson; five brothers, Joel Columbus West and Charlie (Linda) West, both of New York City, N.Y., Alfred West of Camden, Willie Clarence (Rosalyn) West of Fayetteville, N.C., and Prince (Renee) West of Summerville, S.C.; with a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
