Elizabeth Washington Hunt
Aug. 8, 1954 – Aug. 6, 2024
Elizabeth “Bet” Washington Hunt, a native of Gainestown, was born to the parentage of Loran Mosley and
Samuel Mitchell Aug. 8 1954. On Aug. 6, 2024, she answered the Lord’s call to her eternal rest leaving a legacy of
love and laughter that will be cherished by many forever.
Early in life, she joined Antioch A.M.E. and was a faithful member until her health declined. God blessed her to
be a blessing to her family, community, and everyone she came into contact with.
Elizabeth was joined in holy matrimony to Raymond Hunt Sr. for 52 years; to this union six children were born.
She enjoyed cooking, watching westerns, Sunday radio programs and spending time with her family.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and siblings, Loria and Eddie Washington.
Elizabeth leaves to cherish her loving memories, a loving and devoted husband, Raymond Hunt Sr.; six children,
Fred (Rosie, devoted daughter-in-law) Hunt, Raymond (Sophia) Hunt, devoted daughter Gwendoyn Jackson,
Raymond (Tabitha) Hunt, Sharlene (Charles) Davis and Felicia (Marvin) Martin; a special child and devoted
granddaughter, Roneka Whittaker; three sisters, Shirley Nash, Nettie (Lewis) Hunt and Vivan Snell; five brothers,
Oscar (Isabella) Washington, Theado (Patricia) McMullen, Michael (Barber) Washington, Darron McMullen and
Lenard McMullen; one aunt, Iver Hunt; 23 grandchildren, three devoted, Donterio, LaRaymond and Keldrick; 25
great-grandchildren; god-sister, Clara Morris, god-children, Jasemine Picken and Dalonte Moore; four special
friends, Bernice Hunt, Sylvia Hunt, Margie Foxx and Kathy Washington; seven in-laws, Julia Hunt, Clemtine (Fred)
Edward, Genevia (Paul) Foreman, Jennifer (Edward) Williams, Sandra Jackson, Wesley Hunt and Aaron Hunt; with
a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
