Emily Lula “Lou” Moore Jackson, age 89, was born August 30, 1930 to Nathan, Sr. and Daisy Lou Robinson Moore in Washington County, AL. The family moved to Jackson, AL in the Rockville Community where she was reared and attended Christian Valley School. Emily was reared in a Christian Family. She met and married Edd Jackson, Jr. on January 24, 1947, and this union remained until his death in 2007. Together they had a beautiful family of eleven children. Emily was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on May 30, 1992, where she served until the end.
A devoted wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, friend and much more are a few words that describe Emily. She loved family, cooking, crocheting, shopping and sharing with everyone.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Edd Jackson, Jr.; granddaughter, Deanda Jackson; parents, Nathan and Daisy Moore, Sr.; daughter-in-law, Deloris Jackson; four sisters, Ida M. Webb, Margaret Caves, Sarah (Elmore) Peyton, and Clara Moore; six brothers, Percy L. Moore, McKinline “Mack” Moore, Dennis Moore, Jacob Moore, Clyde Maye, Sr., and Emanuel King.
Emily will be greatly missed by seven sons, Freddie (Katherine) Jackson, Pascagoula, MS, David Jackson, Sr., Robert (Bobbie) Jackson, Eric (Terri) Jackson, and Kevin (Sherry) Jackson, all of Jackson, AL, Johnny (Cassey) Jackson, and Kinney Jackson, both of Detroit, MI; four daughters, Cynthia Faye Jackson-Lewis Jackson, AL, Sandra Jackson, Moss Point, MS, Amie Gibson, Grand Bay, AL, and Brenda (Kirt) Norwood, St. Stephens, AL; one brother, Samuel Moore, KS; two sisters, Berniece Jones, Dothan, AL, and Ella (Al) Howard, Atlanta, GA; thirty-six grandchildren; sixty-four great grandchildren; three great- great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
With respect to the governor's orders relative to the coronavirus the services Saturday will be private to the family. The family appreciates all of your support and prayers throughout this period and solicit your continued prayers as we pray for blessings upon you.
