Deaconess Emma Lee Reed-Moss was the first born and only daughter to Walter and Olivia Portis-Reed on May 21, 1940. She departed this life on Tuesday, October 5, 2024.
She grew up in the Cortelyyou community and graduated from Prestwick High School. She attended Lewis Grove Baptist Church until she joined Lang's Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church of McIntosh, Alabama and faithfully served until her health failed.
Emma was joined in Holy Matrimony to Edgar Moss Jr. To this union two sons were born, Darrell and LeBarron Moss.
Emma was an insurance agent for many years and she also drove the school bus. She was preceeded in death by her husband, parents and one grandson, LaBarron Adams.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories two sons, Lebanon (Hillery)Moss, McIntosh, AL: Wayne Morris, Victorville California; One sister, Jackie Reed, McIntosh, AL; Thirteen grandchildren and Sixteen great-grandchildren; one devoted aunt Dannie Kimbrough; A host of cousins, two devoted, Mary Leggett and Rosie Wright; step brothers and sister, one devoted Doris Powell. Caregiver Sonya Best and Mary Taite, and a host of friends.
