Sis. Evelyn Elizabeth Williams was born in Jackson April 30, 1934, one of four children born to the late Boykin Jones and Annie Mae Jones. She was baptized at an early age and was a devoted member of Mt. Olive No. 2 Missionary Baptist Church in Jackson, where she attended faithfully until her health failed. She had served as a deaconess and in the Missionary Society. Sis. Evelyn lived a long and purposeful life until the evening of Aug. 20, 2021, when God decided to call His faithful servant and angel home.
Preceding her in death were her loving husband, Bro. Earl L. Williams; one loving brother, Jonathan Jones; and her loving sister, Catherine Pruitt.
Sis. Evelyn leaves to cherish her memories her five children, Johnnie (Daisy) Williams and Ronnie (Theresa) Williams, both of Mobile, Carolyn (John) Jackson of Jackson, Bettye (Vernon) Lowe of Selma and Raymond (Melissa) Williams of Gulfport, Miss.; one loving brother, Alvin Jones of Metarie, La.; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 28, 4:30 p.m., at Woodlawn Cemetery, 1077 Center St., Jackson, AL.
Final life celebration has been entrusted to Jackson Memorial Funeral Home, 203 East Ross St., Jackson, AL 36545.
