Houston House Obituary

Houston House, a native of Choctaw Bluff and a resident of Jackson, made his earthly transition on Oct. 30, 2020 while at Mobile Infirmary Hospital. He was born on July 31, 1948 to Susanna Golden and Eddie House. Early in life he was a member of New Canaan Baptist Church in Choctaw Bluff. Later, he united with Jackson AOH Church of God in Jackson, where he served on the Board on Deacons and was a faithful member.

Houston treasured spending time with his beautiful wife, children, grandchildren and the family. He loved fishing, gardening, listening to good gospel music and most of all he loved the Lord with all his heart and soul! He never missed an opportunity to tell you about how good God is.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ron C. Robinson; his brother, Ike Lee House; sisters, Frances Perine, Bethel Darrington and Mary Lucus.

Left to cherish his memories is his loving, devoted, and caring wife of 50 years, Marzell Robinson House; children, Recko (Mary) House, Maurice (Marlesia) House and Marcella (Gabriel) Mitchell, all of Jackson; seven grandsons, Quantavious McReynolds, Kinordo House, Jalen House, Maurice House Jr., Zyshun Mitchell, DeAries House and Zion Mitchell; one brother, Jim (Jamie) House; sister, Delois Ann  House, both of Jackson; sisters-in-law, Charlene (Bishop W.C.) Curry and Willodean Martin, both of Mobile, Sharon Tiggs of Jackson and Jackie Johnson of Lena, Miss.; godsons, Antonino Scott, Andre Jones, LaDarrell Perine, James Richardson Jr., Timothy McKenzie and Jerel Foreman; goddaughters, the Rev. Daisy Donald, April West, Monarica Foreman, Shameka Jackson, Felicia Dixion and Shantrice Hadley; with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
