Inez Leonard James

Inez Leonard James, a resident of Jackson, traded time for eternity on Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family. Inez was born Aug. 18, 1924 to the late Jessie and Robert Leonard. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mack James; three brothers, Melvin, Johnny and Jessie D. Leonard; and three sisters, Vessie Wright, Irene Smith and Carrie Croom. 

Left to cherish her memories are her six children, Johnnie Miller of Jackson, Sharon McLeod of Atlanta, Ga., Diann White of New Jersey, Carl (Monika) Darrington of El Paso, Texas, Lawerence Chris (Mary) James of Jackson and Gabriela Michelle James of Huntsville; 14 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; a devoted god-daughter, Elizabeth (Liz) Burrell of Jackson; a special brother-in-law, Johnny (Lillian) James of Mobile; with a host of other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be Friday, Jan. 14, from 2 until 6 p.m., at Jackson Memorial Funeral Home, 203 East Ross St., Jackson. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 15, 3 p.m., at Mt. Olive No. 1 Baptist Church Cemetery; the Rev. Kevin Jackson will be the officiating minister.

Final life celebration has been entrusted to Jackson Memorial Funeral Home.
