Janet Anita Holmes as born March 7, 1957 in Biloxi, Miss., the daughter of Annie McDonald Scandrick and Joe Clifton Smith. She passed away Aug. 14, 2020 at Springhill Hospital in Mobile.
After a brief time in Mississippi, the family relocated to Los Angeles, Calif., where she attended school and joined the workforce working for Bank of America, Union Bank and Occidental Insurance Company.
Janet gave birth to six children, whom she loved dearly.
Later, in the summer of 2001, she relocated to Jackson where she worked for Bill’s Dollar Store and Sweets and Treats.
Janet was loved and will be truly missed.
Preceding her in death was her stepfather, Jimmy Scandrick; brothers, Darnell McDonald and Wayne Clark; sister-in-law, Mary McDonald; and nephew, Davelle Holloway.
Left to cherish her memories is a special friend, Charles Clemmons; three sons, Daryl “Kali,” Steven and Kevin; three daughters, Selena, Heaven and Sequoia; five grandchildren, Isaiah, Kaidan, Javien, Daijah and the newest addition, Nevaeh; her mother, Annie Scandrick; one sister, Regina Clark (Michael) Wiley, all of Leroy; two brothers, James McDonald of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Jeffrey Scandrick of Leroy.
The Rev. Tommie Moore will be the officiating minister.
