Janice Marie Jackson

Janice Marie Jackson was born April 8, 1972 to the union of Mary and the late Rev. Willie Clay Jackson. She departed this earthly life Friday, May 1, 2026 at the age of 54.

Janice was baptized and united with the Pine Chapel #1 Baptist Church, Grove Hill, AL.

Janice was a graduate of the Clarke County High School Class of 1990, where she was not only a member but excelled in basketball, track and field, throwing the shot put and discus, receiving several award and recognitions. One of most proudest moment during school was being named Most Athletic, receiving State Championship Titles in Basketball and Track & Field for consecutive years.

Janice was the “Life of the Party” at all the family gathering, where she always had a joke or two to keep everyone laughing, trying to make sure a good time was had regardless of what event it was. Janice loved dancing and playing a good game of Spades. Anyone that knew Janice, knew that her family was her most prized procession. She was loved dearly by her village.

Janice leaves to cherish her legacy and precious memories, her three heartbeats: her children, one daughter, Janeicia Jackson of Grove Hill, AL; two sons: Navontae Johnson of Grove Hill, AL and Jammarrian Johnson of Montgomery, AL; three amazing grandchildren: Ava Pritchett, Ja’ Kylenn Tubbs and Jai'Ceon Tubbs; a loving and dedicated mother, Mary Jackson; four devoted siblings: three brothers: Dr. William (Cynthia) Jackson of Grove Hill, AL, Alric (Brenda) Jackson of Monroeville, AL, and Willie (Andread) Jackson of White Hall, AL; one sister, LaSandra (Mosie) Jackson of Grove Hill, AL; an adopted brother, Rickey (Margaret) Duncan of Grove Hill, AL; her nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly and they loved her just as much: Genesis (Devin), Alric Jr., India, Gioia, Jacory, Santeria (Daquarius), Zachary, Gemanuel and Jaryian. A special part of her heart was her great-nieces and nephews who all adored their “Aunt Janie”. The love of her life, John Horton and his family; her closest friends: Katrina McGill and Latrice Henderson who preceded her this year in death. A host of devoted aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. The service will be held on Saturday May 9, viewing will begin at 10:00 til 11:00am Mt. Zion No. 2 Baptist Church 2930 Mt. Zion Rd. Grove Hill, AL. 36545

Interment will follow in the Pine Chapel No. 1 Church Cemetery in Grove Hill, AL.
