Jessie “Kate” Spears was born on August 9,1956 to the late Odis Ruffin and C.J. Spear in Choctaw County, AL. Jessie departed this life on July 15, 2024 at South Haven Health Rehabilitation facility in Hoover, AL.
Jessie married the love of her life, Willie Williams on June 18, 1977. As she spent the last few months of her life in the hospital and rehab, whenever she saw Willie, her eyes would just light up. To this union, they had four children. John Maurice Williams preceded her in death.
Jessie was a member of the Orange Hill Baptist Church in Grove Hill, AL. Her favorite saying was, “God is Awesome to Me”. She faithfully attended nightly Bible Study via phone conference.
Jessie was a homemaker. When her children were younger, they would wake up from the sound of the sewing machine. She sewn quilts, curtains, and pillows for many people. During the pandemic, she even made face masks. She enjoyed setting up a booth to sell her inventory.
Jessie leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Willie Williams, Sr; daughters, Brenda Williams of Birmingham, AL and Bridget Williams of Jacksonville, FL; son, Willie Williams, Jr of Lisman, AL; sister Rosie Ruffin of Aliceville, AL; brother B.C. (Clovina) Spear of Lisman, AL; one grandson; one great grandson; five sisters in love; three brothers in love; and countless nieces, nephews, friends and family.
