Jonathan Franks, 72, a native of State of Line, Mississippi and a resident of Chatom, transitioned from this life Sept 14, 2025, at his home in Spencer, Okla.
Franks gave his life to Christ at an early age and was baptized at Lily Grove Baptist Church in Chatom. He received his primary and secondary education through
the Washington County School system. Strong proponent of higher education, he obtained a bachelor's degree in computer science from the University of Central Oklahoma and a master's degree from Southeastern State University.
He faithfully served his country and community, having joined the United States Air Force as part of the Security Police and dedicated more than seven years to service before receiving an honorable discharge.
He was a faithful member of Tabitha Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, where he served on the security team.
Preceding him in death was his loving father, Nathaniel Franks Sr, brothers, Nathaniel Franks Jr. and James Franks, sister, Ella Franks Woodard; grandparents, Mark Franks and Etta Franks, and Estus Lockhart and Ezella Lockhart, stepfather, Archie Bishop; with a host of uncles and aunts.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Francis Franks; sons, Howard Donaldson and Jonathan Franks; stepchildren, LaSandra, Marvin, and Johnny Mixon; grandchildren, Isiah, and Alicia Donaldson, Addison and Alia Franks; stepchildren, Kendall Hamilton and 11 stepchildren, mother, Martha Bishop, mother - in - law, Patricia Lewis, sister, Evelyn (Earnest Sr.), Moore, two aunts, three uncles and three sisters-in-law, and He will be remembered by one niece, three nephews, neighbors and a wealth of dear friends.
