Judith Marie Steele

Judith Marie Steele was born on September 24, 1951 in Oxford, England, to the late Eric and Teresa Trevelyn. She departed this life on May 1,2023, at her home in Jackson, Al at the age of 72.

   Judith was a graduate of The Peers School located in Oxford, England. After graduating she relocated to the United States where she met and married her husband of 42years. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Star of Zion AME Zion Church in Jackson,Al. Then she joined Lang’s Chapel AME Zion Church in McIntosh, Al and served as a Deconist. She later joined Miller’s Chapel AME Zion Church in Demopolis, Al and served as First Lady and Deconist. She then later reunited with Lang’s Chapel AME Zion Chirch and served as First Lady and Deconist until her death. 

  Judith is proceeded in death by her parents Eric and Teresa Trevelyn. One brother,John Trevelyn, Two sisters, Susan Hayes and Ann Bowes, Three brother in laws, Paul Watts, Samuel Steele and Steve Daffin.

    She leaves to cherish her memories a loving and devoted husband, Rev Charles C Steele of Jackson, Al.  A loving and devoted daughter, Naomi Trevelyn of Oxford, England. One stepdaughter Jessica (Tanna) Pettway of Jackson Al. Three stepsons Charles (Janice) Steele, Eric Steele, all of Jackson, Al and Darius (Bardrell) Jackson of Citronelle, Al. Fourteen grandchildren. One devoted, Charles Steele Jr, whom she helped raised. Three brothers, Stephen Trevelyn, Mark (Sue) Trevelyn and Paul (Joan) Trevelyn, all of Oxford, England. Three sisters, Catherine Trevelyn, Louise Trevelyn and Claire Watts, all of Oxford, England. Three brother in laws, Spencer (Audrey) Steele, Fredrick Steele and Rodney Steele, all of Jackson, Al. Four sister in laws, Janice (Darryle) Ezell, Marie Steele, Marie (Eric) Hill, all of Jackson, Al, and Vangie (Olabode) Anise of Mobile, Al. A host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, one devoted Tyree Caves, and friends.
