Katherine Taylor Obituary

Katherine Chapman Taylor, a native and resident of the Toddtown community of Jackson, answered the Master’s call on Oct. 30, 2020 while at Mobile Infirmary Hospital in Mobile. She was born Sept. 12, 1971 to Nancy Thomas and Howard Chapman. Katherine was a faithful and dedicated member of the Winn AOH of God until her health began to fail. She served on the Pastor Aide Board, Kitchen/Hospitality Committee and was a choir member. She did whatever was needed for her church.

Katherine was a graduate of Clarke County High School in the class of 1989 and had been employed with Walmart for several years.

Her husband, children and everyone she came in contact with, knew her great love. She was just an all around great person. She was also a dedicated classroom mother at the school her children attended.

Preceding her in death were her beloved mother, Nancy Thomas Chapman; sister, Carrie Lee Huff; nephew, Brian B. McConico Jr.; brother-in-law, Ronnie Taylor; and father-in-law, Bobby Taylor.

Left to cherish her sweet memories is her devoted husband of 23 years, Gerald Taylor; daughter and son, Angel Taylor and O’Shea Taylor, all of Jackson; one stepdaughter, Shonnie Taylor of Chicago, Ill.; a step grandson; Silas Taylor;  her father, the Rev. Dr. Howard (Edna) Chapman of Jackson; sister, Carol Lynn (Overseer James Sr.) Richardson of Jackson; brother, Howard (Bethany) Chapman of Knoxville, Tenn.; mother-in-law, Carrie Taylor of Jackson; sisters-in-law, Angela Taylor of Jackson and Sarah Williams of Gainestown; two brothers-in-law, Derrick (Pam) Taylor of Semmes and Mark Taylor of Jackson; aunts and uncles, devoted Mary Harmon of Jackson, Mable (Johnnie) Chapman of Mobile and Mildred (Marshall) Law of Grove Hill; two devoted nieces, April McConico of Atlanta, Ga., and Ashley Richardson of Jackson; devoted nephew, James Richardson Jr.; with a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
