Leon Edgar of Jackson, better known to family and friends as "Skully," exchanged this life for eternity on Thursday, April 20, 2023, while at Jackson Medical Center. He was born to the parentage of Wyrean Daffin Edgar and Earnest Edgar Jr. on Nov. 6, 1962. At an early age he joined the St. Union Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev. F. D. Craig.
Leon was a 1981 graduate of Jackson High School, where he excelled in football, track and basketball. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Alabama Crimson tide fan. Leon enjoyed watching old-time westerns and any and all sports. He will forever be remembered for his laughter, jokes and friendly personality. He was loved by many.
Preceding him in death were his parents and brother, Bobby Daffin.
He will forever be cherished and lovingly remembered in the hearts of his family, including his beloved and devoted wife of 33 years, Cynthia Darrington Edgar; his loving daughter, Lequatia Darrington (Stacie Mose) of Houston, Texas; one sister, Flora Jean Bettis of Jackson; six brothers, Carl Darrington of El Paso, Texas, Steve (Sandra) Daffin of Jackson, Clifford (Denise) Edgar and Quinton (Valerie) Edgar, both of Mobile, Jerry Parker of Fontana, Calif., and Michael Parker of Loganville, Ga.; three sisters-in-law, Gloria Pernell, Debra (Jerome) Bettis and Julia Daffin, all of Jackson; two brothers-in-law, Robert (Lela) Darrington and Johnny Darrington, both of Jackson; two uncles, Cleveland Daffin of Richmond, Va. and J.C. (Martha) Edgar of State Line, Miss.; two aunts, Johnnie Daffin of Jackson and Christine (Otis) Jones of Selma. Leon was especially loved by his devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives; and six long-time friends, Emmikt Stewart, Kenneth Pernell Jr., Anthony James, Henry Gaston, Carmen King and Marlo Jenkins..
