Lester Neal Whittaker

Mr. Lester Neal Whittaker, a resident of Mobile, was born Sept. 25, 1957 to the union of the late Carrie and Neal Whittaker of Gainestown. He exchanged his earthly life for his eternal life on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021.

Confessing Christ at an early age, he joined the Antioch African Methodist Episcopal Church in Gainestown. Lester attended Alma Junior High and Harper High School. He served in United States Army for a number of years. 

He was known for being a great roofer. He loved helping others and did it with a smile. Lester enjoyed good music and dancing. His greatest joy was being an uncle.

Lester was part of a very large family and their love for him is forever.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers Elvis, Evans and Johnnie Whittaker, and two sisters, Carrie and Ida Bell Washington.

His memories will forever be cherished by his son, Montez Moore of Mobile; two loving devoted sisters, Maurine Washington and Evie Whittaker of Mobile; five loving devoted brothers, Robert Whittaker of Satsuma, Frankie (Nancy) Whittaker and Dwight (Kim) Whittaker, both of Cincinnati, Ohio, Bobbie Whittaker of Gainestown and Tommy Scott of Toddtown; sister-in-law, Dorris Whittaker of Walker Springs; with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

Public viewing will be Friday, Feb. 19, from 4 until 7 p.m., at Jackson Memorial Funeral Home. A graveside service
