Lewis Davis Obituary

Mr. Lewis E. Davis Sr. was born in McIntosh on April 3, 1954. His entry into the world brought joy to his parents Aslean Davis and Bryant Davis Sr. Lewis graduated from McIntosh High School in 1973, and soon after he went into the workforce, where he eventually moved to Cleveland, Ohio and retired from Terrance Construction Company. After retiring Lewis returned home to McIntosh.

Lewis was a very active member of his church home in Cleveland, Ohio where he served as a deacon of the church. Often times, Lewis would check on sick church members that were at home or even in nursing homes, offering them prayer and communion.

Although Lewis was a private person, friends and family counted on him during their time of need.

Lewis is survived by his three children, Shelia (Eric) M. Davis-Daniel, Deloris Davis, and Lewis (Theresa) E. Davis Jr.; six grandchildren, Christopher A. Daniel, Donovan A. Daniel, Tyrese Zion, Tyler Summers, Naomi E. Davis, Shekinah E. Davis and Elizabeth E. Davis. Also remaining to cherish his memory are sisters, Clara (John) Dunning, Delia West, Aslean (Robert) Johnson, Ida Cox, Mae Etta Roper, Betty Marks and Doris (Joe) Johnson; brother, Izell (Sandra) Davis; sister-in-law, Beatrice Davis; brother-in-law, Charlie White; with a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Bryant Davis Sr. and Aslean Davis; sisters, Gloria Davis, Zeola (Alonzo) Wheat, Bertha Monigan, Printella Gulley, Sadie (Wallace)Reed, Hazel (Eugene) Franklin and Mary White; brothers, John Davis and Bryant Davis Jr.; brother-in-law, Lawrence West Sr. and Carlos Cox; grandson, Jonathan Daniel.
