Loretta Bracy Adams traded time for eternity on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at her Jackson, AL residence. She was born February 5, 1922 to Napoleon and Carrie Scott Bracy.
At the age of 10, she confessed Jesus as her personal Savor and was baptized and became a member of Old Mt Sinai Baptist Church (presently Greater Mt Sinai Full Gospel Church) of Jackson, AL, where she remained a faithful member until her death.
Loretta and Levester Adams Sr. were wed in holy matrimony on 27 April 1943 in Clarke County Alabama. To this union 13 children were born.
At age 52 she attended Hobson Technical Trade School, Thomasville, Alabama, at night where she completed her GED. Afterwards, she received her certificate of completion in sewing from Selma University. She was the first in her family to become a registered voter.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Levester Adams, Sr.; daughters: Sarah B. Johnson and Judy B. Adams Richardson; sons: Michael F. Adams and Alton Adams; grandson: Kendrick Johnson; parents: Napoleon and Carrie Bracy; siblings: R. B. Bracy, Milton Bracy, Josephine Nichols, McArthur Bracy, Tilton Bracy, Jake Bracy, Pearl Bracy and E. C. Bracy.
Left to forever cherish her precious memories are seven daughters: Marie E. Howard, Ollie (M. W.) Fox, Geraldine (Frank) Nash, and Suda Byrd, all of Jackson, AL; Loretta (Carlos) Verdecias of Cresco, PA; Gwendolyn (Mac) Hunt, Hephzibah, GA; and Sharon Williams, Selma, AL; two sons: Rev. Sylvester (Earline) Adams, Eight Mile, AL; and Levester (Bobbie) Adams, Jackson, AL; forty-one grandchildren; seventy-five great grandchildren; twenty-one great great grandchildren; a sister-in-law: Louise Bracy, Jackson, AL; daughter-in-law: Laura Adams Robinson, Jackson, AL; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
