Mary Louise Primm, a native of Hybart and resident of Avon, N.Y., affectionately known to family as “Mama,”
“Gran Ma,” “Aunt Louise” and Mary by her friends, answered the Master’s call Nov. 23, 2024 at her home. Mary
was born on Dec. 5,1940 to Alma McCants Primm and John Primm in Hybart. Early in life, Mary united with Pine
Flat Baptist Church; after relocating to Avon, she united with Avon United Methodist Church where she served
faithfully in the Women’s Mission and loved working with their annual bake sale.
Mary was a retired supervisor of Birdseye Food, where she was employed for 45 years. A loving, caring and
compassionate person, she was always willing to do whatever she could to help anyone. Following retirement, she
devoted herself to volunteering with many organizations in her community, such as the Avon Historic Museum and
the Annual Avon Corn Festival.
Mary loved shopping, traveling and cooking for her family on the holidays. There was never a time that you spoke
to her that she did not end the conversation without telling you, “I love you!”
Preceding her in death were her parents; sisters, Annie Moye, Alberta Dortch, O’Neal Campbell and Velma
Nettles; brothers, Willie Payne, Jack Primm and S.B. Primm; grandson, Jeremiah Williams; and great-granchild,
Amore Montgomery.
Left to cherish her sweet memories are her two daughters, Deborah Primm and Jerry Primm of Rochester, N.Y.;
seven grandchildren, Tyrone Moye, James Doucette, Tameka Primm, Towanda Carver, Germaine Dixon, William Carver Jr., and
Tonya Carver; 38 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren; one loving and caring sister, Thelma Dortch
of Vredenburgh; two aunts, Eloise Primm Ramsey of Birmingham and Velma Scott Primm of Monroeville; with a
host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, her loving church family of Avon United Methodist Church and many
friends.
