Matthew Anthony Gully

Matthew Anthony Gully, a resident of Leroy, was born Sept. 2, 1978 to the parentage of Michael A. Gully and Mary Louise Jackson - Gully.

He traded time for eternity on April 14, 2023, while at Jackson Medical Center in Jackson. Matthew was 44 years of age. 

Matthew was a graduate of Leroy High School in the Class of 1996. He furthered his education at Alabama Southern Community College in Thomasville in the field of welding. He worked at Hosea Weaver Asphalt Company and Gulf Lumber. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church of Leroy.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Matthew Gully, Sarah Donald Gully, the Rev. Tommie Lee Jackson Sr. and Elizabeth Pearson Jackson.

Matthew leaves to cherish his precious memories his mother and father, Mary Louise Gully and Michael A. Gully Sr.  , both of Leroy; brother, Michael A. Gully Jr. , aunts, Elizabeth (Jimmie) King and Florence (Jimmy)  Simon, both of Leroy, Constance (Robert) Jones of N.C., Julia Pugh of Winn, Delia (William) Hunter of Montgomery, Kenetha V. Jackson of Jackson, AL, Daisy (Eddie) Bettis of Leroy and Stacey (Henry) Moore of Mc Kinley, Texas, Johnnie Mae Tate  of Mobile, AL; uncles, Jim (Jean) Gully of Leroy, Larry (Angela) Harris of Mobile, Tommie (Carlissa) Harris of Chattanooga, Tenn., Alonzo Jackson of Montgomery , Bobby (Angela) Stephens of Jackson, and Robert Lee ( Mary ) Brooks of Los Angles , CA; with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends, Steve Mc Graw and Johnny (Happy) Mc Graw.
