Mattie Lou Davis

Mattie Lou Davis was born July 10, 1959 to the parentage of the late Richard Davis and Jessie Davis of Whatley. At an early age, she confessed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and joined the Mackey Branch No. 2 Baptist Church in Whatley. Mattie was a 1977 graduate of Clarke County High School in Grove Hill.

Mattie answered the Master’s call Sunday, Oct. 25, 2020 at Jackson Health Care. 

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her sister, Beatrice Coates.

She leaves to cherish her memory two children, Mario (Ecstasy) Davis of Manassas, Va., and Kenya Davis of Whatley; three brothers, George Davis of Tunnel Springs, Curtis (Barbara) Davis of St. Stephens and Maurice (Lisa) Davis of Whatley; six sisters, Evelyn Davis, Comelethia Davis(Mark) Bush and Katina Davis all of Whatley and Gwen (Lloyd) Knight, of Wainwright,  and Dianne Abram of Alberta, Vivian (Joseph) Cowan of Dixon Mills; four grandchildren, Kamarion, Ariyonna, Sunny and Jessica Davis; 13 aunts and eight uncles; with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
