Maxine Davis Armstead, a resident of Grove Hill, answered the Master’s call Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2021. Maxine was born April 4, 1938 to Ethel Mae and Rass Davis of Indian Ridge. At an early age, she joined the Indian Ridge Baptist Church.
Maxine enjoyed cooking, shopping, traveling, eating out, Facebook and spending time with family.
Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Wesley Armstead; granddaughter, Caitlin Armstead; and several sisters and brothers.
Left to cherish her memories are her devoted children, Margaret Tabb, Patricia Barnette, Tasha (Mike) Burroughs and Carl Armstead, all of Grove Hill, Iris (Kelvin) Broughton of Monroeville, Michael (Felisa) Armstead of Moss Point, Miss., and Torrance Armstead of Pueblo, Colo.; devoted grandchildren, Mychella Armstead, Precious Armstead, Carlyn Armstead, Draper Washington Jr., Raven Broughton, Reginald Broughton, Madison and Malia Burroughs, Jasmyn Jones, Makaline Jones, Demetria Lanier and Khelesiya Hughes; three great-grandchildren, Alexandria and Amarra Boughton, and Zoey Miller; and devoted sister, Ruby “Jimmy” King of Mobile and a host of nieces,nephews other relatives and friends.
