Michael O'Hara Collins began his journey Sept. 5, 1962 in Los Angeles, Calif., to the parentage of Jannie Scott and John Collins Sr. His journey ended June 21, 2022 while at We Care Hospice in Moss Point, Miss. He was educated in Los Angeles County schools and the Clarke County School System for a short time. Michael was employed by the Los Angeles County transit system.
Michael was a jokester with a great sense of humor. He was also an avid Dallas Cowboy fan.
Preceding him in death was his father, John Collins Sr. and a brother, Anthony Collins.
Left to cherish his memories are his mother, Jannie Scott Collins of Jackson; two children, Shavonda Collins (Cecil) Cooley of New Orleans, La. and Michael O'Hara Collins Jr. of Los Angeles, Calif.; three grandchildren, Jauan Malik Cooley, Carter Cooley and Conner Cooley; one sister; Gina Collins; brother, John Collins Jr., both of Jackson; five aunts, Annie Nora Jackson of Fairhope, Shirley (Gregory) Fountain of Jackson, Audrey (Apostle Arthur) Wilson Sr. of Shreveport, La., Eva (Kenneth) Millendar of Moss Point, Miss., and Cheyenne Ezell of Lawton, Okla.; two uncles, Arnell Scott and Johnny Stewart, both of Grove Hill; a devoted friend, Rhonda Causey of New Orleans, La.; with many cousins and other family members.
