Michael Anthony Poellnitz, was born Sept. 3, 1970 in Jackson to Ardell and Johnny Poellnitz. He departed this life Oct. 10, 2021 at Jackson Medical Center in Jackson.
At an early age, Michael united with Apostolic Overcoming Holiness Church, under the leadership of Elder Moss in Jackson. While in attendance, he enjoyed participating in the singing and clapping his hands during service.
He attended Wilson Hall Middle School in Grove Hill, later attending school in Jackson, where he graduated. While attending school, he thoroughly enjoyed participating in the Special Olympics.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents, the Rev. Rubin Nix and Mary Nix, and Early and Tomzie Poellnitz Calhoun; aunts, Ruby St. George and Mary A. Poellnitz; and uncles, Billy Ray Poellnitz and Carl Nix.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted mother, Ardell Poellnitz; his devoted father, Johnnie Poellnitz; siblings, the Rev. Johnnie (Amanda) Poellnitz Jr., Margaret (Terance) Wimberley, Percilla Frowner, Thomas Poellnitz and Kelby Poellnitz; a host of aunts and uncles; nieces, Shandell Frowner, Sarah Wimberly, Vakiesha Wimberly and Ivory Marie Poellnitz; nephews, Kirk Poellnitz, Kyle Poellnitz, Donta Frowner, Thomas Poellnitz Jr., Terrance Wimberly Jr., Brandon White, Jamar Mathews and Jacoby Poellnitz; with a host of cousins, other relatives and friends; two special friends, Marion Goodwin and James Carstarphen.
