Miller Barnett Tarvin Obituary

Miller Dean Barnett Tarvin, made her earthly transition from this earthly life on Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on July 27, 1934 to the parentage of Joh Dell and Georgia Barnett in Whatley. Miller Dean accepted Jesus Christ at an early age as her personal Savior. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Whatley under the leadership of Pastor Fernell Pendleton and First Lady Brenda Pendleton until her health declined.
Miller Dean worked at Grove Hill Memorial Hospital as a housekeeper for many years. She faithful served the Lord and read her Bible daily. She made sure she spread the Word of God to everyone she came in contact with. She gave the biggest hug and best kisses to all. She was also an avid fisherwoman, loved playing dominos, tending to her flowers, watching the Los Angeles Dodgers and cooking for her family and friends.
Preceding her in death was her loving husband, Arthur Tarvin; her parents, John Dell and Georgia Barnett; daughters, Wanda Faye (Henry) Andrews, Christine Tarvin, Mae Linda Tarvin and Shirley Ann Rodgers; son, Edward Earl Tarvin; grandson, Randy Tarvin; two great-grandsons, Jaquez Tarvin and Quentin Williams Jr.; sisters, Florence (Billy) Robinson and Geraldine (Lee) Smith; and brothers, Joseph, Cecil, Raymond and John Barnett.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories one devoted daughter and son-in-law, Clara and Frank Brown of Coffeeville; two devoted sons, Clifford and Arthur Tarvin of Grove Hill; daughter-in-law, Rosie Tarvin; four sisters, Ella McClain and Irene Hill, both of Grove Hill, Laura (Willie) Young and Cora Lee Robinson, both of Mobile; 16 grandchildren, one devoted, Stephanie Tarvin; 29 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, with a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives; devoted friends, Otis Thomas, Brenda (Fernell) Pendleton, Wynette Bivens,
