Min. Betty Jackson-Hunt Obituary

Minister Betty J. Hunt was a native of Mobile, Alabama, was born
January 16, 1959 to Alonzo and Mary Jackson. On Sunday, May 25, 2025
she answered the Lord’s call to her Eternal Home leaving a legacy of Love,
Memories and Joy that will be cherished by many.
Betty was a devoted member of New Christian Spring Church. As her health
began to decline, she continued to worship faithfully by attending services
online.
Betty was united in holy matrimony to Aaron Hunt, and together they were
blessed with four children. She had a passion for helping others, spreading
the word of God, and cherishing time with her family. Betty was also known
for her loving but bossy nature, which brought both laughter and structure to
those around her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alonzo and Mary Jackson; her
siblings: Alonzo and Mary Jackson; a brother, BeWright Smith; two sisters:
Janet P. Davis and Janette Jackson; and her devoted sister-in-law, Julia Hunt.
 

Betty leaves to cherish her precious memories, a devoted and loving
husband, Aaron B. Hunt, Jr: four loving and devoted children: two sons:
Tyrone (Felicia) Jackson of Mobile, AL and Aaron L. Bullard of
Philadelphia, PA; and two daughters: Taminica (Calvin) Land and Erica
Hunt both of Mobile, AL.
She was a proud grandmother to her first grandchild and only grandson,
JonVonta Hunt, whose arrival marked the beginning of a cherished
generation. She also lovingly embraced her granddaughters: Jasmine Ford,
Jabreea Wallace, Jaalyn Hunt, Jordyn Jackson, and Erin Hunt Brown. Her
legacy lives on through her treasured great-granddaughter, Lenyx M. Hunt;
one devoted uncle, Joe Jackson; a host of siblings: Clayton C. (Mildred)
McCants of Mobile, AL, Alonzo (Edna) Jackson, Jr. of Foley, AL, Jimmie
(Tanja) Jackson of Fayetteville, NC, Rev. Karl (Norma) Peoples of Grove
Hill, AL, Clarence (Tolethia) Peoples of Jackson, AL, Christopher (Shay)
Peoples of Atlanta, GA, Michael (Wynett) Peoples of Alma, AL, Nathaniel
(Diana) Jackson of Jackson, AL, Travis (Javon) Jackson of Fayetteville, NC,
Sarah (Henry) Gibby of Barlow Bend, AL, MiShella (Calvin) Jackson of
Grove Hill, AL, Juanita (Richard) Pritchett of Walker Springs, AL, Annie
Jackson of Barlow Bend, AL, Ida Jackson of Beaumont, TX,
Voncille (Kenneth) Dickinson of Jackson, AL, Clarietta (Melvin) Benjamin
of Jackson, AL, Angela (Lajuan) Singleton of Barlow Bend, AL, Shandra

TX and Sharonda W. Cottrell of Manila, AL.

Minister Hunt also shared a special bond with her godchildren, whom she
lovingly guided and supported throughout their lives. She is survived by
Adam Washington, Jimmie Barron, James McCadney and Shay Johnson each
of whom held a meaningful place in her extended family.
She was also blessed with the companionship of her beloved sister-in-law,
Clementine (Fred) Edwards; as well as special friends including: Robert
Stokes, Rudy Pugh, Ted Rivers, Rachel McGadney, Julius Seals and many
others whose lives were enriched by her presence and friendship
Her cherished cousins include: Denise Azeez, Joann Glidersleeve, Bettie
Peoples, Charlie Jackson and Shirley Seals. She was also lovingly supported
by her godparents, Jack and Diane Fairley, as well as Sylvester and Marie
Bryant; and a devoted adopted aunt, Joyce Williams
Her husband and children would like to extend special gratitude to her
devoted sisters: Annie Jackson, and Sarah (Henry) Gibby who traveled
countless miles every other day to lovingly care for her. Deep appreciation
also goes to Lisa Loper, whose compassion and support provided comfort and
consistency during Betty’s time of need. Their unwavering care was a true
reflection of the love that surrounded her.
Minister Betty J. Hunt’s memory will forever live in the hearts of those who
loved her. She was a beacon of faith and compassion, and her legacy of love
and service will continue to inspire generations to come.
